Fitness for Moms

Our options for the #barremom are endless - whether you are a new mom, expecting mom or super mom. Barre-Tech's Mommy & Me and Prenatal classes were recently featured in The Washington Post Express. What makes barre excercises effective for expecting and new moms is that with the range of motion typically less than an inch, they are far safer to do than many other fitness alternatives. 

We were also recently mentioned on Let's Talk Live during María José Ovalle's (Very Busy Mama) segment on Fitness for Moms.  Maria specifically mentioned our Mommy & Me Classes - which have become a huge hit. In these classes you can bring your new baby up to crawling age. We start with a light cardio warm-up with baby in tow, followed by thigh and glute toning, strategic ab strenghtening and a stretch that will bond you and the baby.

For moms to be, we offer Prenatal Classes that will teach you techniques to prepare for the body's changes.  We start with a gentle, full body warm-up, perform a series of thigh and glute excercises, and teach you how to activate your core in ways that strengthen your posture. 

For moms with kids over the age of crawling, who need a babysitter during class, Sprout at Saffron offers childcare at our Clarendon location. They specifically coordinate childcare during several of our class times. To see the full schedule click here. 

Prenatal Classes are offered at 12:00pm on Saturdays at our Del Ray Studio

Mommy & Me classes are offered at 1:30pm on Saturdays at our Del Ray Studio
